The Royal Marsden Hospital Walk 2014
The Marsden March a 5-mile or a 14-mile walk that has been sponsored
between The Royal Marsden Hospitals in Sutton and Chelsea. This event
has raised over £ 3.25 million in the past 3 yeas and helps to support
cancer diagnosis and treatment, research and care.
Many people
from all over London participated in the Marsden March, which was held
on Sunday, 16th March. People tweeted about the event and it was a hot
topic to discuss over the weekend. The Marsden March is a great way for
people to love and honor their loved ones and support a great cause and
help to raise funds. This is a great way for people to recognize ways in
which you can touch a cancer patient’s life.
Key members of the
Royal Marsden hospital participated in the walk and many local
celebrities and well-known faces including Richard and Fred Fair brass
better known as pop stars Right Said Fred were present too. Thousands
marched the 14-mile trek; it was a bright and sunny day so people were
enjoying themselves.
Many other walkers took a smaller version of the walk, which started from Rayne’s Park and ended at the Sutton site.
There
was a big thank you event at the end of the march for the walkers,
which was a great way to celebrate the event. There were more than 100
marquees and various event equipment hired from Casablanca hire which hosted food stalls, BBQ's, face painting and live entertainment from a series of guest bands.
