The best fashion looks from the Royal Family ladies
As Meghan Markle announced a collaboration with M&S last week, we saw it as the perfect opportunity to take a look at our favourite fashionable royals in a bid to decode their more stylish looks.
Constantly on camera, our favourite regal ladies never have a day off when it comes to impeccable fashion. Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle – not to mention the Queen herself are known for their classic outfits that are worthy of a seat on the throne.
Let’s take a look.
One of our favourite royal ladies, The Duchess of Sussex, recently stepped into the role of guest editor for the September 2019 issue of British Vogue. To take on the world’s most stylish role, Meghan opted for a classic black jumpsuit by Everlane, which is still available online.
The Essential Jumpsuit, in particular, comes in black (as Meghan wore), dusty blue, and olive. It features a double-V neckline and a removable sash, which you can either tie around your waist or ditch for a boxy silhouette. It retails at $120, a more accessible price compared to the rest of the duchess’s wardrobe.
The Duchess of Cambridge was the winner at Wimbledon this year, where she wowed in a stunning white dress by the label Suzannah.
In the snap above, you can see Kate arriving at the sporting tournament in her chic outfit, sporting the essential ‘all-white’ players’ dress code.
She accessorised her short-sleeved “Wiggle” dress with a black Alexander McQueen belt and Alexander McQueen “Wicca” mini clutch, completing her look with black bow brooch.
Proving style is timeless, the Queen looked lovely as she stepped out of her car to attend 2018’s London Fashion Week. Wearing a pastel duck-egg blue tweed outfit by Angela Kelly, she gave the catwalk models a run for their money.
Angela Kelly is in fact Queen Elizabeth’s personal stylist! In addition to being the curator and designer of Queen Elizabeth’s clothing, she is also her personal assistant.
Her Majesty was on hand to present the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design.
Princess Mary of Denmark
Whilst she may not be part of the British Royal Family, it seemed unjust to miss out Princess Mary of Denmark. Not only is she incredibly beautiful, but she comes high in the style stakes.Back in 2018, Princess Mary of Denmark arrived at the Copenhagen Fashion Summit in a pleated midi with an asymmetric pattern. Stunning, right?
Princess Beatrice may not be papped as much as The Duchess of Sussex, but the understated Royal lady has upped for fashion game in recent months. She was recently seen out and about at London’s 34 restaurant looking fabulous sporting a pleated burgundy midi skirt.
Combining two of this season’s most popular fashion trends in one – silk skirts and pleated midis – Beatrice wore the elegant skirt in an oxblood shade styled with a black top, heels, and jacket to complete her smart-casual look.
We’re so used to seeing our Royal ladies dressed up to the nines, it’s refreshing to see one fearless female opting for a cool nd casual look. Princess Diana was known for being fashionable, fabulous and flawless – even in gym gear. With high street stores currently stocking athleisure collections to rival Diana’s in the 80’s – did Diana’s look inspire this new trend?
If only we all looked so fabulous after a gym session!
The Countess of Wessex
The races is always a huge fashion event, and Sophie had a big win when she wore this stunning ensemble to Ascot recently. Sophie wowed in a complete dusty blue two piece.. The fascinator matched her top and, of course, her pleated midi skirt.
The Countess even accessorised with a thin dusty blue belt to add a hint of edge. Just like Beatrice, Kate, and Meghan, this Regal girl is a huge fan of the pleated midi-skirt – so we’re definitely taking notes!
